The skeptic is convinced. I'm the biggest skeptic in the book, so when I received a gizmo called The Perfect Sommelier, which was supposed to 'age' wine in a matter of minutes, I though "Oh sure!" For sake of experiment, I set up a tasting of an Italian Brunello, a wine that's known for being tight and unapproachable when young. One glass was exposed to the effect of The Perfect Sommelier; another wasn't. Frankly, I was surprised to find that there was, in fact, a rather large difference. The magnetic device requires no batteries; just place your open bottle on the magnetic base, put the magnetic stopper in, and wait 30 minutes. The wine will show softer tannins and rounder friut, as if it had been aged for several years. Don't ask me how it works, but it works!.

As promised, I carried out an experiment with the TPS. I had the assistance of a number of my wine associates. As you know, I am a professor with Rutgers University and more importantly, I am a scientist. I look at everything with a certain amount of skepticism, until I see data or conduct my own tests. Thus I was skeptical about the TPS. I can tell you now that my skeptiscm is gone and I am now a believer. We used the TPS on a Washington state Merlot and the difference between the control and the TPS was obvious to even the most novice of tasters. The TPS Merlot bottle was very apparent, was much more open, showing a full, black fruit nose which was not apparent in the control. There also was a complexity there that the control lacked. On the palate, the acidity was less noticeable and the tannins were softer than the control. Again, the black fruit character was more evident in the TPS wine. The finish was softer, and the tannins less rough than the control. I would have to say that the experiment definitely showed that the TPS is everything it claims to be. I didn't believe, but I believe it now.

A truly amazing product. The Perfect Sommelier is aptly named, it is Perfect! Thanks for inventing something that's pretty darn nice... This will make a difference for any bottle of wine, even the non-alcoholic wines will taste better.

Hey, this thing seems to work! Without question the wine that had been 'Sommeliered' smelled softer, with more fruit. And the taste showed the same difference, seeming because of a noticable reduction in tannin. I also thought the treated sample was slightly warmer.

I wanted you to know how excited we are about 'The Perfect Sommelier'. We have tested it on many different styles of wines in our sample room and found it alters the taste, making wines appear softer and more advanced. This will have obvious advantages for a consumer... Thank you for sending me this miracualous wine accessory to try out.

"The Perfect Sommelier" is just what the doctor ordered. It assists in helping to appreciate wine, it helps the aroma, and it gives the wine a fuller body. It is less acid, more mellow and enhances the flavor,-and all in 30 minutes!... I recommend it highly to all wine enthusiasts." -

...It worked! The Perfect Sommelier far exceeded my expectations! The difference was remarkable between the non-enhanced wine and the wine enhanced by The Perfect Sommelier. The non-enhanced wine...was closed down and tight with many rough edges. The wine enhanced by The Perfcet Sommelier was smooth and polished with seamless layers of flavor and a silky finish!... I highly recommend The Perfect Sommelier.
